Elephant Update

Updated: May 21

The Season of Fun is just getting started...

CONGRATULATIONS to Klickitat County resident and radio host LUKE THROOP. The multi-talented Luke was chosen to be a DELEGATE to the Republican National Convention in July in Milwaukie, WI.

He is one of 40 Delegates (out of over 1,800) that was elected. He had 30 seconds to present himself, and he wowed the crowd.

The cost of the trip is approxiimately $5000. To support Luke and to help with his expenses, we will be hosting a Taco Feed Fundraiser for Luke on June 14th at the Bible Baptist Church of Goldendale at 6 pm. There will also be a brunch at a private home in White Salmon on June 22nd 10am-noon (with Mimosas and a crepes). Luke will be available at both events to chat with supporters. Email us at info@klickitatcountyrepublicans.org if you would like to attend the White Salmon brunch.

LOCAL ELECTION NEWS

Filling week is closed. The following people will be running for office; you will see their names on the November General Election ballot.

County Commissioner, District 1:

Todd Andrews (R)

Amanda Kitchings (I)

County Commissioner, District 3:

Dan Christopher (R)

Ron Ihrig (R)

Public Utility District #1 Commissioner:

Stoner Bell

The KCR will be providing information on these candidates at our events and at our meetings.

The WA State Convention was HISTORIC. For the first time, the Delegates elected a slate of candidates for endorsement by the WAGOP. These are the Candidates to get to know! The KCR voted to endorse the "Slate of 8," and we will have information and supporting materials for these candidates at our Booth.

We will also have TRUMP yard signs available for purchase at all events! (signs have been purchased via the official Trump website, fee will be to cover costs, no profit will be made)

We want to thank everyone who took the time to sign the KCR-sponsored petition requesting that the County Commissioners do a more thorough investigation before closing our jail. The public comments during last week's County Commissioners' meeting made it clear that more research, transparency, and facts are needed--and need to be communicated to the public--before making a decision that potentially impacts our safety and tax payer dollars.
